Quest Gallery was established in 2004 with the ideal of mixing painting and prints with applied art objects in a way which would allow each to complement the other. There are fine boundaries between the different media: ceramics or glass may be described as sculpture, paintings can include other materials than paint and so on. All this gives the potential for varied and stimulating exhibitions.

The gallery sources art internationally and from the UK.  It has permanent collections of unusual original prints, ceramics by Pippin Drysdale, Aboriginal art through a link with a gallery in Australia and Danish applied arts. Local artists are well represented, including work from artist printmakers.

Exhibitions last on average eight weeks. The private view in the gallery is usually followed by a talk or discussion in the nearby Royal Crescent Hotel.  The speakers are often the artists who are exhibiting, but they may be drawn from the wider art world.

The gallery is situated in St James Street, behind the Royal Crescent. This street, lined with cafes and shops, leads to one of the loveliest squares in Bath, St James Square. The Royal Victoria Park is nearby and there are excellent pubs and restaurants in the vicinity.

Quest Gallery is part of Bath's vibrant Gallery Quarter and the galleries host open evenings for those who enjoy browsing and enjoying a selection of excellent fine art.

In addition, in November 2010 there will be the first event of the newly formed Galleries Group, which includes most of the galleries in Bath [details to follow]
